Governing Body

The Governing Body (GB) is the pivotal body of the Alliance Française de Delhi, as it assumes all responsibilities of the association under the Indian Societies Act 1860. It determines the overall functioning of the organisation, and lays down the parameters for its development in accordance with the aims and objectives of the association.

The General Assembly is convened at least once every year. It is made up of all the registered members of the association, as on the day of the convocation. Through secret ballot, it elects twelve members to the Board for a period of two years. The Board in turn, through secret ballot, elects its  President, who appoints the other honorary office bearers: two Vice-Presidents, a Secretary, a Joint Secretary, and a Treasurer. The GB meets at least four times a year. It is assisted in its functioning by six committees, looking after: Governance & Finance, Academics, Building & Cafeteria, Cultural Activities, Legal Affairs, and Membership & Communications.
