Bernard Frédéric (Poelvoorde) leads a very ordinary life: an average bank executive, he’s married and has a son. But he used to have one passion: Claude François, the French star singer from the 1960s-70s, and one fancy: to live himself his idol’s life. As the "Imitators Gala Night", a programme letting real aficionados like him play their icon’s role on TV, is coming up, he must choose between his comfortable life and the risk to quit everything to fulfil his dream.

After an insurance fraud, Pablo should rapidly find 500 000 Francs or go to jail. Leon, a cousin whom he has not seen since childhood, has just inherited a million francs. The only problem is: he has been living a life on drugs for now more than thirty years and remains convinced that Janis Joplin and John Lennon have promised to come back.

So Pablo has a plan: transforming his wife Brigitte to a cheesy unemployed actor so that they can get their hands on the money. But this will lead the trio much further than they had imagined.

While visiting her mother, she comes across a photograph that will incite her to travel to Italy in order to track her down. In Italy Jeanne will solve the mystery behind her changes, after having undergone a full transformation.
