UPCYCLED- Increasing the life cycle of materials, adding value

-with imbedded stories… 

Sustainability is on the current world's mind.  But the concept is very old.  Looking to become more environmentally conscious and economically sustainable, Kala Raksha found inspiration from the artisans with whom it works, and their rich heritage. 

Upcycling-- increasing the life cycle of available materials, adding value without degrading quality-- and with the addition of imbedded stories-- is what Kala Raksha discovered. Kutch artisans value the creativity and hard work of their embroideries so much that they invest time and effort in prolonging the lives of much loved objects.

This year, Kala Raksha proudly introduces its Upcycled line. Kala Raksha Artisan Designers used their abundant creativity to re-invent and re-value the surplus inevitable in production. Unique, one of a kind quilts and throws, and charming funky hip bags are the result.

The Collection will be launched at Kala Raksha's annual Solo Exhibition, held this year at ALLIANCE FRANCAISE DE DELHI.

The show also highlights an all new collection of exquisitely embroidered heritage bags, reversible shawls and runners, saris…An all new collection of Kala Raksha garments, and exciting Artisan Designs by Kala Raksha Vidhyalaya graduates.

Artisans will be present to demonstrate and explain their work.
