He received the knowledge of great masters as Simon Shaheen and Nasseer Shamma. He obtained his Masters in Music and Musicology at Sorbonne University in 2010 for his research on composer Abdel Wahab. Parallel to his solo career, Issa developed collaborations with artists from different traditions (Aïcha Redouane, Sister Marie Keyrouz, Jan Schumacher Quintet). His compositions are influenced by his oriental culture but also jazz, turco-balkanic and latin music. In 2012, he founded the group Joussour gathering jazz and oriental musicians (from Syria and India).

Rishab Prasanna: Son and disciple of the flute and shehnai maestro Pandit Rajendra Prasanna, he has been initiated into the art of flute playing by his grandfather (Pandit Raghunath Prasanna) and uncles (Ravi Shankar Prasanna and Rakesh Prasanna). Since the age of 17, he performs in solo and with his father and brother Rajesh Prasanna on prestigious stages in India and over the world (Womad Festival in Australia, Darbar Festival in UK, Dover Lane Music Conference in Kolkata, Tansen Samaroh in Gwalior, Festival de l’Imaginaire in Paris). Since 2009, his career brought him to Europe where he opened his art to new dimension through multiple musical collaborations (with Avishai Cohen, Marc Nammour, Dreamer’s Circus among others). In 2016, he was selected to play in a French movie with famous actor Jean-Pierre Bacri. He was also chosen to be the “Ambassador of Toulouse City” along with international renowned personalities.

Zuheb Ahmed Khan: Born in 1993, Zuheb Ahmed Khan is the son of Ustad Naushad Ahmed Khan, hailing from the Ajrada tradition. Zuheb took his training from his grandfather Ustad Hashmat Ali Khan and well-known tabla player Ustad Akram Khan. Zuheb has performed in various prestigious festivals all over India (Harballabh Sangeet Sabha in Jalandhar, Kashi Baithak in Varanasi, Darpan Music festival, ITC Sangeet Sammelan in Kolkata) and regularly plays for SPIC MACAY Organization. In 2016, he accompanied the renowned duet Shubendra & Saskia Rao in a tour in Australia.

[InChorus] is a cycle of musical meetings organized by the Alliance Française de Delhi and the Kalasetu organization for the promotion of South Asian Traditional Performing Arts and exchanges between Indian and French artists.

[InChorus] offers a platform for creation dedicated to young promising musicians, of all genres, settled in India and France through residencies, concerts and workshops. We encourage talented Indian musicians to take part in the development of a musical project or to strengthen an already existing collaboration with a French (or European) artist.

[InChorus] invites the musicians to display their work during a public performance in the auditorium of Alliance Française de Delhi. The first part of the program will be dedicated to the Indian artist, followed, in the second part, by a restitution of his collaboration with his French counterpart.

Kalasetu is an Indo-French organization established by musicians and anthropologists passionate about Indian Performing Arts. Kalasetu aims to bring together artists, scholars and a large audience to appreciate and encourage the transmission and the performance of artistic expressions from South Asia, in India and in France.
