Level requirement: B2

This course is aimed at students who have reached the B2 level or who have attended over 500 hours of French.

Content:

Take up themes that are related to the issues of the contemporary life such as:

• Unemployment;
• Violence;
• Globalisation;
• Pollution;
• Media;
• Education

Structure of a lesson:

1. Organisation of a discourse:
   
   1. Presentation;
   2. Explanation;
   3. Illustration;
2. Different speech acts such as how to:
   
   1. Express one’s views;
   2. Agree or disagree;
   3. Concede;
   4. Object;
   5. Persuade;
   6. Reassure;
   7. Intervene;
   8. Understate;
   9. Negate;
3. Strategies:
   
   1. To argue;
   2. To influence;
   3. To provoke;
   4. To dissuade;

Frequency: 2 hours twice a week for 10 weeks.
