On the occasion of Women’s Day, the Alliance Française de Delhi is hosting the launch Dominique Hoeltgen’s book L’Inde, la revolution par les femmes. India is an explosive place where women are making remarkable achievements. They are revealing large sides of the present society, and drawing its future. They are laying out the picture of India on the move. In her book, she describes the portraits of several women in India that she met during four years. They are social workers, artists, peasants and the directors belonging to different backgrounds. From slums and from wealthy neighbourhood, famous and unknown, these hard-working women are shaping a new India and defining the future of the country. The book launch will be followed by a panel discussion by the author Dominique Hoeltgen around the role of women in the present society.
