Elodie, a 15 teenager, decides with her best friend, Julie, a gothic girl of the same age, to have sex for the first time with boys. But there is only one week before holidays. Of course, nothing happens as expected by them. They will have to face a reality that they imagined differently. Indeed, meanwhile, Elodie discovers how her friendship with Vincent can become a feeling of love. Lola Doillon, the daughter of Jacques Doillon, shows as much talent as her father for directing actors, who are here mostly non-professionals. With a rare sense of truth, she stages the clumsiness and the contradictions of teenage years, in particular through the witty eloquence of her characters, using MSN or SMS. The important work on dialogues, very contemporary and often funny, is one of the keys of this light-hearted banter. The goal for these teenagers is to define themselves, to find their place in the group, and to test their relationships. With the good detachment, between empathy and humor, Lola Doillon observes the movements of her characters, and captures their unstable energy. Unlike many other directors, she never exaggerates or caricatures their behaviors. The natural and the tenderness of this chronic are with no doubt largely contributing to the success of the movie.
