  Paris la Métisse

“Paris la Métisse”, reveals the correspondences between human beings whose identities and origins are different.

The exhibition testifies to the cultural diversity of the French capital. The sensitivity of the writing and the photographic art of Florence Batarière and Morgan Haël Jypsian give the city of Paris a tangible dimension as a crossroads of civilizations.

Through 104 photos in black and white smell the perfumes of distant parts of the country without leaving the capital of eyes: of Goutte-d’Or to Little Jaffna, the Place Vendôme in the Bastille, Belleville in the Latin Quarter, Faubourg-Saint-Antoine to Ménilmontant, Paris exposes its interbreeding and its unexpected and unspoken dialogues in the glances of the spectators.

Their work aims at showing a humanist vision of the Parisian melting-pot through black and white pictures representing life instants captured in the course of our travels in the streets of the French capital, on the occasion of events, festivals or daily life…

Some will wonder maybe of the absence of some communities or nationalities but the idea was not to establish statistics or to make a journalistic report on communities living in Paris but to propose a poetic and artistic vision of Paris, la métisse.
