Nobel prize winning author Albert Camus is regarded as a master of French literature, but he is also considered as an inspiring intellectual and philosopher engaged in the great torments of the 20th century. To commemorate the 80th anniversary of the publication of his second collection of writings Les Noces, published in 1938 1939, Alliance Francaise (Delhi) will present a one-day conference on May 3, 2019. The theme of the conference, “The Intellectual Geography of Albert Camus” will bring together scholars and specialists of Camus to discuss the relevance of his literary and philosophical works, as well as the influence that his thoughts and his ever-evolving social, cultural and political engagements had on the evolution of the French society and beyond.
