Last year, it was discovered that 97% of conductors were men. And then we realized that we didn’t really know what it was like, concretely, to be a conductor.

So for a year, we wanted to follow Lucie Leguay in her daily life as a young female conductor, to understand what it was all about.

Very noticed during a springboard for young conductors in 2018, Lucie Leguay deploys her talents within several orchestras, among others as assistant conductor of the Orchester national d’Île-de-France, the Orchester national de Lille and the Picardy Orchestra.

Finally, it was above all Camille Ducellier who followed her with her team. A shock team, composed mainly of women. Louise and Flavia on sound and Camille Langlois on image. Auriane and Margaux in production. Ellie at AD. And Antoine in the editing, to still have a man in the team.

Director Camille Ducellier has chosen a vertical format. This strong aesthetic bias invites the viewer to change their focus and look at classical music. The format gives full place to the gestures of the chef. It also allows optimal distribution on smartphones. The series thus offers a real immersion in the world of orchestral conducting through the various projects led by Lucie.

In five episodes following the different stages of her year, the series offers an immersion in the world of conducting through the eyes of a young multifaceted conductor.

Each week from November 17, an episode will be broadcast on the Philharmonie Live website and app, as well as on the Philharmonie de Paris YouTube channel. The series was produced by Upian with the support of YouTube, CNC, Sacem and Dominique Senequier.
