Theatre: DURAS RESISTANCE | 16th June 2016
The last World War, Marguerite Duras lived it all at once as the wife of a deported husband, as a resistant, but also as a writer. This play is an adaptation of two texts from her book La Douleur, the first one of course, along with the one about Monsieur X, alias Pierre Rabier. This second one is particularly striking. Pierre Rabier is a Gestapo agent who Duras has a dangerous affair with, obliged to see him to obtain intelligence which will help her resistance network. Duras is suffering from the decisions of that cold-hearted man, but as he is fascinated by French authors he will spare her life in the end.
