The last World War, Marguerite Duras lived it all at once as the wife of a deported husband, as a resistant, but also as a writer.
This play is an adaptation of two texts from her book La Douleur, the first one of course, along with the one about Monsieur X, alias Pierre Rabier. This second one is particularly striking. Pierre Rabier is a Gestapo agent who Duras has a dangerous affair with, obliged to see him to obtain intelligence which will help her resistance network. Duras is suffering from the decisions of that cold-hearted man, but as he is fascinated by French authors he will spare her life in the end.
The spectators are at the heart of a gripping unknown and disturbing narration.

Maud Andrieux is 34 years old and the director and actor of La Compagnie du Barrage. She works mainly on the texts of Marguerite Duras such as Un barrage contre le Pacifique, le Vice-consul or La Douleur. She was invited in October 2015 at the Rencontre Duras in Trouville where she presented L’Été 80, upon the occasion of the Marguerite Duras Prize awarded to Bulle Ogier for her whole body of work. She has been performing in France and throughout the world for more than ten years, and is now spending her time mainly between France and South Asia.
