Date: 21st July 2023

Film Screening 1 – Last Call (French Film with English subtitles)
Director: Mathieu Baillargeon
Duration: 19 min
Time: 6:00 pm

Plot: Life in an ordinary café is disrupted by the intrusion of a weird and authoritative woman who starts manipulating the customers as if they were puppets. In spite of themselves, they become both spectators and actors in a somewhat macabre drama. In this café turned into a stage, a man’s life from birth to death is (being) told. The story of his fate is bound to choices that are not always choices. The story of a mysterious man, in turn, is surprising or frightening, maybe because we are very much like him deep down. But is it just a game? Where is the story leading us? Are we the spectators or the actors of that life?

Film Screening 2 – Betelgeuse (Hindi film with English subtitles)
Director: Sunder Konar
Duration: 32 minutes
Time: 6:20 pm

Plot: BETELGEUSE is the brightest star in the constellation Orion, marking the eastern shoulder of the hunter. It derives energy from the other stars in order to survive. This film is about a journey of a girl, “Chitra”, whose life is changed after an accident. Her career and her dreams are destroyed. The film depicts the choice that girl makes with the help of her family and some strangers meeting in the journey of life. She must fight to be a Betelgeuse. And once she is a Betelgeuse, life becomes more meaningful and brighter
