Q: The registration link is there but I could not register for – Classes/ Orientation Test/ DELF Examination?


A: The link is always there on the website but is not active throughout the year. Kindly check the registration dates for the respective section on the website itself. You may register only when the registrations are open.

Q: Can I register online if I haven’t cleared the session?

Q: Can I register online if I haven’t cleared one part of an intensive batch?

A: Yes, you will be able to still register through the online platform – https://selflrn.com/afdnew/student-registration/index.php/StudentRegistration/login

Q: Can I register online for classes if I have taken a gap of one session?

A: Yes, you will be able to register through the online platform – https://selflrn.com/afdnew/student-registration/index.php/StudentRegistration/login even with a session gap.

Q: Can I register online for classes if I have taken gap of more than one session?

A: No, you will be required to take up the Orientation Test. For further information, you may contact our course counselors.

Q: What is my user id for online registration?

A: Your registered email id will be your user id for online registration.

Q: How do I get my password to log in for online registration?

A: You will be required to generate your password. After entering your registered id you will click on “get password”. The password then will be shared with you on your registered email id. Please check your junk/spam folders as well if you don’t receive the password in your inbox.

Q: Is there any fee to appear for the Orientation Test?

A: Yes, you need to pay registration fee applicable for the test

Q: I had appeared for the Orientation Test - will I be able to register online for the classes?

A: You will not be able to register through our online portal for classes. For further information, you may contact our course counselors.

Q: For how long the Orientation Test result is valid for admissions?

A: You can take admission for the assigned level in the immediate next session or session after that. So the result will be valid for 2 immediate sessions.

Q: I have given Orientation Test but not satisfied with the level assigned.

A: The test assesses you in totality. It’s a combined score of your performance in all the four sections of the language – Reading/ Writing/ Listening and Speaking. There is a possibility that you might have done well in few section/s but you lacked in other/s. Our team of faculty members decide your level keeping in mind the teaching standards of AF.

Q: What is the difference between DELF and Orientation Test?

A: DELF – is an International qualification. It’s a French Language Diploma issued by the French Ministry of National Education
Orientation Test – The orientation test is taken by a candidate who already knows French in order to get his level assessed and then be oriented to the right level of French language course at AF.

Q: I have never taken classes at AFD before, but I have taken DELF examination, will I be able to register for next level classes?

A: Yes, you may take classes at AFD but you will not be able to register through our online portal for classes. For further information, you may contact our course counselors.

Q: I am an existing student and I want to skip one level as I have already cleared my DELF examination. Will I be able to register online?

A: You will not be able to register through our online portal for classes. For further information, you may contact our course counselors.

Q: What is the score criteria if I want to take admission on the basis of DELF examination?

A: You should have your DELF cleared in past one year. The minimum score required to take admission to next level is 70% in total and minimum of 12.5 out of 25 in each competency – Reading, Writing, Listening and Speaking.

Q: What if I don’t fulfil the criteria for admission on the basis of DELF examination, if I don’t score the required percentage, will I not get the admission in the next level?

A: Kindly contact Front Desk with your scores to discuss what level can be assigned to you in this case.

Q: Will I get any confirmation email after online registration/ How do I know my registration is confirmed if I do it on your online portal?

A: The online registration gets completed when you make the payment. As soon as you pay, the system generates an invoice. It’s a PDF file kindly save it/ take a screenshot. This invoice in itself is the confirmation of your registration. You will not get any separate email from the institution for confirmation of your registration.

Q: What if I do not receive the invoice after making the payment?

A: Please contact the Front Desk, course counselors will assist you.

Q: What if I forget to save the invoice or loose it later after online registration?

A: We can share it with you over the email/ in person. Please contact the Front Desk, course counselors will assist you.

Q: I am an existing student and wish to appear for Orientation Examination to skip a level. How can I go about it?

A: Unfortunately, as a student you cannot take up the Orientation Test. If you still wish to, you must take at least one session gap.

Q: Will I get a certificate after completion of my course?

A: Yes, after every session, you will get a certificate provided you clear the session. You will be requested to contact the Front Desk to get your certificate after completion of your session. Notices are issued and displayed on notice boards regarding the same.
