Perrine Bourel carries an almost forgotten music of fiddlers from the Southern Alps and Dauphiné. Mosin Kawa is the bearer of a tradition oral music that has been passed down through seven generations in his family originally from Rajasthan (Gokulpura). The genesis of this project was born from the Mosin’s fascination for the violin and Perrine’s for the tablas. These two instruments possess a rich and nuanced sonic palette. They allow a subtle and in-depth exploration of sound: this is where the two musicians dialogue around pieces from their respective repertoires as well as
composed and improvised pieces.
Mosin Kawa and Perrine Bourel form with their respective arts a music impregnated with fiddlers from the Alps or the Massif Central and crossed by a ocean of flexible and luminous percussions. These moments of grace highly mastered plunge us into an overwhelming poetic dimension, because they come to shed light on a mystery, perhaps that of men and women.
