17 March les belles soeurs

Germaine Lauzon invites her sisters, sisters-in-law, and neighbors to her house to help her stick one million trading stamps, that she has just won, into booklets. Set in the working class district of Montreal, les Belles Soeurs brings together 15 women who narrate the drudgery of their mundane existence and their little joys. A funny play, replete with black humor, Les Belles Soeurs changed the course of theatre in Quebec.

The play reading has been conceptualized and is being presented by Dr. Vijaya Rao, French and francophone studies, School of Languages, JNU
